Baby Botox is a treatment that involves tiny doses of Botox injected into areas of the face like between the eyebrows or the forehead. The results are very similar to when normal doses of Botox are given, but with ‘lighter’ treatment, there’s more movement and the results don’t last quite as long. The aim of Baby Botox is a face that looks smoother and younger without the “frozen” or “plastic” expression that can sometimes result from traditional Botox.
Botulinum toxin has an excellent safety profile. It is used in a variety of areas and is one of the few treatments that can be given to children over 2 year of age (for non-cosmetic purposes). It has been activity used for cosmetic procedures for over 15 years in tens of thousands of patients worldwide and has U.S FDA and European approval.
There is no swelling, however minor redness (usually vanishes within 1-2 hours) and some superficial bruising can occur on occasion around the injection site.
You should see the effects start to work over the days following the treatment which should be fully developed after 2 weeks. You will be invited for a follow up consultation 2 weeks after the treatment to review the results.
The effects of anti-wrinkle injections can last anywhere between 3-4 months.
