A Kenalog injection helps many people with their symptoms of severe hay-fever. For many people it completely relieves the symptoms for the entire season and for others it reduces the severity of the symptoms to a point where you can allow life as normal.
The injection effectively contains the same medication as steroid tablets, but the route of administration is different. When the steroids are injected instead of ingested they are deposited directly into the muscle. There, they leak into the bloodstream in a low dose over the course of around three weeks.
This medication administered when hay fever symptoms first appear can give symptom remission that lasts for the duration of the entire pollen or allergen season (usually three months).
It is possible to experience side-effects from the Kenalog injection , These could include swelling, breathing difficulties, itchy skin or skin rashes and abdominal pain, amongst others. Before anyone agrees to treatment they should be made explicitly aware of the potential side-effects, but it’s also good to remember that they are relatively rare.
